Solangu’s Tale

THE CHILD SAID, “I DON’T WANT TO BE THE PARENT ANYMORE!”

What is it with so called peeps who have been brought up in so called happy, normal familyΒ  settings always looking down their noses at us so called misfits, orphans, bastard children like it was any fault of ours that we were born! In spite of how hard we work and fight to stay alive we still get the sense of “abnormalcy” and the feeling of being a fraud around these “perfectly” nuclear family types who constantly gloat about, “my mummy this, my sister that”, “we’reΒ  having a family outing this, ooo its grandmas 80th that”

And if that’s not enough, the constant having to either explain yourself or make up a fictional family story at Xmas for example so you don’tΒ  seem odd for not, “going home for Xmas!” Even more annoying is when a well wisher choses to have an opinion about your so called “biological” parents and jumps to defend them, “ooo it must have been difficult for them, or it must have been hard for parents to have conversations, etc!”

Ok, stop with the making excuses for irresponsible, abusive parents for crying out loud and think of the child and how difficult it was and still is for the child! You say you don’t understand but you never want to ask or learn from the child! Ask me if you don’t understand and stop using the “no one is perfect” excuse as an excuse to constantly re-abuse the child!! I’m sorry it doesn’t wash with me anymore!!!

Enough is enough, I’m tired of being the parent to my incubator and her other incubates. I’m tired of having to be cautious not to distress so called “normal” people by having to dumb down my story so as to be agreeable to you! I’m tired of people who want to be friends but only on their terms. I can tell you now it’s not gonna work, once I get real, yes, you probably won’t be able to handle the real me. And yes, it’ll explain why you’d get offended when I say, I DON’T TRUST YOU, cos I don’t just trust anybody anymore!

No….. Why? Who are these heartless council people, why do I pay council tax to recruit heartless people, what if it was their mother or grandma? Anybody know what’s happened now! I’m fumming I want to get on a train go bring her to live with me!! But wait, it’ll probably be classed as overcrowding as I don’t have a mansion!! Aghhhhhhhh! No come on its a hoax an Easter hoax story, right!?!?!?!?! 😞

Not a hoax
I’m flummoxed, confused, flabbergasted, shocked, mortified, don’t think I can find a word to describe how I feel!! So how much did it cost to send bailiffs, police, etc? How about, help Mary improve her storage situation by donating a fire proof storage facility!! And yes the technology exists!!! For crying out loud why can’t we negotiate win win solutions for everyone?!! Seriously why?!!?!!!Β  The solutions are so simple and inexpensive too!!! Agggghhhhhh!!!!!!

Shame, shame on you Motherland Africa!!

WP_20160128_5535Shame on you, shame on you motherland Africa,
Shame, shame, shame on you.

Still you persist in de-robing ze innocence of le virgins.
Still you mutilate and castrate le future.
Still you abuse and clubber,
Still you cause the hearts to shudder.
At the ill gotten gain;
Of licentiousness pain.
You seem not to care;
You seem not to hear.
The cry of newborn child,
Left to wander, yonder wild;
Like a crevasse, displaced, torn, ruptured from the womb;
You erupt, molten magma, scattered pieces, empathy doomed.

Shame, shame, shame on you
Shame, shame, on you,
Motherland Africa!
From, far North Eritrea, West Nigeria to South Zulu.
Shame, shame, shame on you
Motherland Africa!

“It’s who you know?!”

WP_20160111_7513.jpgI disagree with the ideology that, if you don’t have a supporting family, or a mentor, or the, “it’s who you know” mentality you can’t be successful in life!!!

And yes I agree those things can be helpful and may fast track one’s career, goal or aspiration.

I, however believe it is limiting to think if you lack those things you can’t be successful!! 😊

Homelessness: Stop asking, “But where are you originally from?”

WP_20151005_13Homelessness: Stop asking, “But where are you originally from?”

Homelessness: For the record,
This is not always a bad thing!! Being orphaned by default or situational does not limit your existence on earth!

If you’re blessed with a loving, nurturing, supporting family, do appreciate it. I’m simply saying,Β  one can live a fulfilling successful life, in spite of not belonging to a model family!

And,

Stop asking me, “but where are you originally from!!!” I get mad by that question.

Why do you ask, I retort, “are you from Mars?” Alright if you insist, “I am from Planet Zolga!”

One day I said “from a woman’s (mother’s) tummy!!”

No, I wasn’t incubated in a test tube, but sometimes I wonder if I probably was and like all Sci-fi plots with a great cover story!!!

All my life it seems every extra curricular activity, voluntary, church activity, etc, I’ve done, gave me a sense of belonging and feeling of being wanted!!

This is something that ought to have been established in childhood at home from parents within a nurturing “home” environment!!

When this doesn’t happen, one may constantly struggle with this feeling of belonging nowhere on earth!!

But wait:

What if you can get rid of the need to belong somewhere?!!

The theory is similar to the simple, half empty vs half full glass theory.
Rather than homelessness, lets call it “earthfulness” or “earthmoreness” or “universemoreness” or “godfulness”, you get the picture!

I decided to adopt this theory!

For a season, I had thrived on the idea that the stage was my home and my band and audience were my family. I also loved school, university, educational institutions and can’t get enough of my classroom family!

And of course then came along Polly, no, I’m kidding. No, then came along the post modern, avant garde church (cult?!) with the promise of a new family and you are home at last!!
But, seriously, what if you can get rid of the need to belong anywhere?!
And if I must belong somewhere then I belong on the earth, the solar system, the universe, with God. I belong in the matrix with all the other elements and carbon units as a whole. I am one with the whole earth, the universe and God.

I am daily learning to embrace the freedom of not needing to belong with a nominal earthly family.

We do not chose to be born or brought to this planet or planted within any family, dysfunctional or not.

But in spite of our point of entry, I believe we can exercise our free will and choose to be free indeed.

In spite of past difficulties and abuses eventually we find the grace to choose to be thankful for being alive.

We can rise up in faith and utilise the opportunity for our highest human expression, as living organic carbon hydrogen nitrogen units!

Flying solo as a carbon unit, I daily embrace whoever comes into my life in good faith as family. (This may sound flighty and I do take people at face value till proven wrong.)

I am daily overcoming the need to belong somewhere, to someone else’s family or be part of some social structure. 😊
